Ο Γιάννης Σαρακατσάνης μετά από μια αποτυχημένη προσπάθεια να σπουδάσει μαθηματικά στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Πάτρας, κατάφερε να σπουδάσει υποκριτική στο «Σύγχρονο Θέατρο Αθήνας» και σωματικό θέατρο στο “School of Physical Theatre” στο Λονδίνο. Το 2004 ίδρυσε τη θεατρική ομάδα AbOvo, με γνωστότερα έργα τους τα: «Εκεί, εκεί στην Κόλαση», «Μαμά Ελλάδα 2», «Το Ίδρυμα» και «Ο Πλανήτης» με το οποίο κέρδισαν και το πρώτο βραβείο στο BE Festival του Birmingham, το 2010.
Από το 2008 μέχρι το 2019 υπήρξε καλλιτεχνικός διευθυντής του φεστιβάλ νεανικού θεάτρου: Bob Theatre Festival. Έχει συμμετάσχει σε περισσότερα από 50 θεατρικά έργα ως ηθοποιός, σκηνοθέτης ή συγγραφέας και έχει προταθεί δύο φορές για βραβείο “Κουν”, μία για βραβείο “Αθηνοράματος” αλλά ακόμα δεν έχει κερδίσει τίποτα… Παράλληλα κάνει αυτοσχεδιασμό, stand up comedy, σεμινάρια υποκριτικής και, από το 2020, έχει και ένα επιτυχημένο κανάλι στο YouTube στο οποίο εξετάζει, πάντα χιουμοριστικά, θέματα φιλοσοφίας, ψυχολογίας και επιστήμης.

Yiannis Sarakatsanis after an unsuccessful attempt to study mathematics at the University of Patras, he managed to study acting at the “Contemporary Theatre of Athens” and physical theater at the “School of Physical Theatre” in London. In 2004 he founded the theater group AbOvo, whose best known works are: “There, There in Hell”, “Mama Greece 2”, “The Foundation” and “The Planet” with which they won the first prize at the BE Festival in Birmingham in 2010.
From 2008 to 2019 he was Artistic Director of the Bob Theatre Festival. He has been involved in more than 50 plays as an actor, director or writer and has been nominated twice for a ‘Koun’ Award, once for an Athinorama Award but has yet to win anything… At the same time he does improvisation, stand-up comedy, and acting seminars and, since 2020, he has a successful YouTube channel in which he examines, always humorously, topics of philosophy, psychology and science.
